Stag Night

There are so many options of places to go and things to do on your stag night. It is traditionally supposed to be up to the best man to organise however now a days the groom either organises himself or at least gets to pick where he would like it to be and the best man can do all the organising. Decide just how wild or calm you would like it to be. You can choose from adrenaline pumping activities to relaxation weekends. The standard pub, club and curry stag nights are being replaced with crazy weekends away or going on adventure/activity weekends. There really is so much to choose from.

Stag Night - European City

Perhaps you would like a trip to a place like Amsterdam where you can be as wild as you like or just go to soak up the atmosphere. You can have a cultured break and visit museums or do any of the number of things that Amsterdam is notorious for. The same with Ibiza, it is notorious for its clubs and dance scene so if this is your type of thing then Ibiza might be good for you.

If you like the thought of going to a European country but would prefer something a bit quieter then you could go for a beach trip to somewhere in Spain or Greece or a more cultural trip to Paris or somewhere in Italy, where you can visit museums and tourist sites but still have a good night life.

Stag Night - UK Weekends

You do not have to leave the UK there are many places to go here end it may work out slightly cheaper. You could go for a weekend to Blackpool, where you could go to the shows during the day and there are a selection of clubs, pubs and casinos to choose from for at night.

You could go into the centre of London where there is plenty for you to do. You can go to the theatre, museums and at night there is a large selection of clubs and pubs to choose from.
Other suggestions are Alton Towers for a thrilling, exciting stag day/night or weekend, The Lake District or Centre Parks for a calming, relaxing time and some excitement from the water sports, Perhaps Edinburgh for a good night life and culture, or you could book into one of the number of caravan sites that exist up and down the UK. Or maybe you would prefer to spend a day with your stag party doing some sort of team activity. There are many things you can do now from paintball and water sports to tank driving, SAS training and fire-fighter courses. The difference with these sorts of stag days is that no alcohol is involved for safety reasons, of course that's not to say you could not spend a day doing something like this and then go out at night for the more traditional getting drunk if you want this.

Stag Night - Things to Think About

Planning a stag night for the night before your wedding is a very bad idea. Not only is this bad because it leaves no time for the groom or the rest of the wedding party to recover for the day, if it has been along the traditional alcohol fuelled lines, it also does not leave the groom any time for last minute arrangements that he may have. It is a better idea to have the stag day/night or weekend a good few weekends before the wedding, it is also a good idea to contact friends and family members who will be attending it, early on before they start booking holidays etc if it is during the summer.

Who should be included in your stag night? Well only the groom and best man can answer that. Fathers and older relatives may not be interested if it is too boisterous or activity based and may just be happy with a pint down the pub the night before the wedding (just one or two remember) Basically you can have anyone you want there from close friends to family.

Stag Night - Pearls of Wisdom For the Best Man

1. Do not allow any pranks at the stag do that involves razors. Beards and moustaches will not have time to grow back and the bride will certainly not thank you if her husband turns up to the wedding with only one eyebrow or none.

2. Never leave the groom alone at the end of the night if he is really drunk. It is your responsibility to get him home again safe and in one piece.

3. If you decide to include strippers in the stag night, and the groom starts to look too embarrassed then don't let things go too far. He is supposed to enjoy his stag night and it is also your duty to make sure he does.

4. Keep your eyes open for people taking compromising pictures of the groom. Some people think this is funny and even funnier to hand them round at the reception, but I can pretty much guarantee you that the bride certainly wont see the funny side.

5. Lastly, the stag night party is going to consist of some people who do not know each other, as you will have friends, family and work colleagues so when planning what the stag night should be like, remember that getting them all out and doing something will break the ice better than sitting them all around a table.
